Kings need to get on the ball and that's what I am working on. The Mac version of Checkers (0.784) is tougher now than it used to be. Also, I created a new, modernized icon.

Windows XP version of Checkers is now up to speed with the antialiased Mac version. Smooth!

I tried the last Mac version of Checkers (Beta 0.780) on a seven-year-old, 400-Mhz, G3 iMac and it was very sluggish. My G5 iMac had no trouble with it. Some adjustments were made to the OpenGL code and also compiler settings. The new beta download should work better on the old G3 machines. (Beta 0.782).

Checker pieces on the Mac version of Checkers are now smoothed out (antialiased). This may not sound like much, but it took me a while to figure out how to do this and then, get it right. (Beta 0.780).

I improved the random number generator in the Windows version of Checkers. This means improved variance in game-play. A few bugs were squashed in the process. (Beta 0.775).

Addressed a really nasty bug in the Mac version of Checkers -- again! It turned out that a two dimensional array in the Objective-C program was overfilled with data by an errant while loop. Now, everything runs really smooth. Alright, time to concentrate on "The Game".

There were some really bad bugs in the Mac version of my Checkers game. This was due in some part to Apple's changes to Xcode. The bugs are now squashed and the fixed Mac Checkers can be downloaded at the usual link. Keep in mind that the 'q' or 'delete' keys will bail you out if the game is not going the way you like. Just to let you know.

The Mac version of Checkers is now updated. Xcode deployment is a little more tricky than its Windows counterpart. If you are unable to launch the game, please throw it in the trash and check this web page for further developments. I do plan to set up a bug reporting system.

Checker pieces belonging to the player will change into a darker, dead color while the machine's jump animation is taking place. The effect adds much life (or death) to the game. So, now I will concentrate on bringing the Mac version up to speed.

Captures (one checker jumping another) are now animated, but only on the Windows version of my Checkers game so far. This should add a little more entertainment value to the game. I will get the Mac version up to speed with this new feature soon.

September 16, 2006
Both the Windows and Mac versions of Checkers are now able to perform up to nine captures. Beta is at 0.75. Earlier betas were only capable of three captures.

Welcome to C-Minus Games. I am in the process of writing an OpenGL game of Checkers for both Windows XP and Mac OSX. Presently, it performs quite well. Checkers is not yet complete, so beta downloads for this game will be free.
